Welcome to the online auction to support STAR for Brian, a fan based organization working to award a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Brian Keith.
All proceeds from this auction will go to the STAR fund, to help ensure that the full installation fee for Brian's star is accumulated by the deadline of April, 2008.
Of course, the auction wouldn't be possible at all without the help of all the fans from many different fandoms, so we thank each and every one of you, whether you've donated an auction item, are bidding on some of the fabulous items available, or if you're just visiting. Spreading the word and involving as many people as possible is the key to success, so we are grateful to all of you for the contributions you've made.
The auction will officially open on November 3, 2007, and continue for fourteen days, ending on November 17. However, we are already accepting item donations so that they may be entered on this website, giving fans plenty of time to look over the auction items and decide what they want to bid on prior to the official opening. We will "officially" be collecting auction items until November 3rd, but you can donate your item at any time, even once the auction is under way.
And what can you do between now and November, when the auction officially begins? Spread the word to as many people as possible. Ask your favorite authors and artists to consider donating a story or a sketch. Song vidders can start thinking about vids they'd like to contribute. The crafty among us could start making a holiday item or two for donation. We want to get as many fans--from as many fandoms as possible-- involved in this auction. After all, the more items we can offer for auction, and the more people we can get involved in bidding, then the greater our chances of reaching the amount needed to install Brian's star.
Also, please talk us up on your LJs, Yahoo! 360s, myspace pages, or anywhere else you can think of to alert fans to the auction. Let's do everything we can to help ensure that Brian Keith finally receives the recognition he deserves for all the joy he's brought to so many lives.
